Are you inspired, motivated and excited about your life?

Have you done anything lately to create a better life for yourself, or, are you tiptoeing through life hoping to make it safely to death?

You don’t have to continue that way, you can take life and steer it in the direction that YOU want rather than just allowing life to happen to you.

If you can change your mindset and change your thought patterns you can change your life. Properly setting your goals is a powerful and important part of this change.

My role as a Goals and Strategy Coach is to show individuals and groups how to direct their lives and achieve their dreams and goals, but the first step is defining what it is that YOU want from your life.

To kick start the process, take some time to centre yourself and be alone with your thoughts. Sit quietly somewhere that inspires you. It may be the ocean or the mountains or a special spot where you feel safe and at ease. Clear the mind of the monkey chatter and ask yourself the following questions:

What is my passion?
What do I enjoy doing?
If money was not an issue, what would I want to be, do, or have?

So many of us have limiting beliefs when setting our goals. We sometimes believe that we are not good enough, smart enough, talented enough or just down right worthy enough to successfully achieve our dreams. Sometimes our upbringing or past experiences can make us feel as though our dreams are ‘too big’. After all, weren’t a lot of us brought up with the old adage “money doesn’t grow on trees” or “you just have to be satisfied with what you’ve got” OR “don’t get above yourself”.

The key is to rise above all of this conditioning and focus on what it is that we truly want.  Now is the time for you take a stand, this is it.

“I no longer accept mediocrity. I am worthy and I am a Goal Achiever.”

Stop what you are doing right now and sit quietly and write down in a small note book, at least 20 goals that you would like to achieve, they can be big or small and in any particular order, just open your mind and don’t filter this exercise by worrying about ‘how’ you will achieve it. What do you have to lose? Take your time now and get excited about the rest of your life!

Did you know that 95% of people don’t actually write their goals and dreams down? Don’t be one of them. This is an integral part of defining your goals, which is the first step in creating your dreams.

Writing your goals down is an act of commitment to yourself and it’s an accountability process. It makes your goal feel real and not just a wish. It’s the first step in showing the universe that you’re serious about what you want

This step is vitally important in designing your own life now. Identifying your goals, taking ownership of your goals and really focusing on exactly what you want is a key ingredient in Goal Achieving and the great news is this – you have just taken your first step in creating your life by design, by Choice not by Chance. Congratulations!

A big question to ask ourselves is WHY? What is our reason for wanting this goal? The more powerful your WHY? The faster your dreams and goals will come to fruition. We will talk more about this next time but for now, here is an example of one of my personal goals with a great WHY?

“I am traveling to beautiful destinations around the world in June 2016, coaching and strategising with people on how to achieve their goals and dreams because I’m extremely passionate about my work”

Enjoy creating your new life with your trusty note book or journal and watch this space for more.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you have always imagined.”
– Henry David Thoreau
